Hey, I’m Sarah and I am beyond excited to be the newest member of the Kick Point team!
I have been following Kick Point ever since my first interaction with the company at the Enlightened Fall event last November. And by “following”, I don’t mean in a creepy stalker-type way. I just followed everyone on the team on social media and constantly checked their website, newsletter, and blog for updates. That’s not stalkery… is it? So when they added a “work here” tab to their website I took a chance and sent an email introducing myself. I made sure to include a Mean Girls meme so they knew I meant business. Obviously it worked because now I’m here introducing myself to you!
Here’s a little bit about me: I was born and raised in Edmonton and spent the last ten years working as a marketing director for a couple of different radio stations here in the city. I discovered my passion for design while creating the station’s marketing materials and advertising campaigns. Following that passion, I enrolled in and graduated from the Digital Media Production program at Edmonton Digital Arts College. Now I get to combine my marketing know-how with my design skills here at Kick Point! Best of both worlds!
Other things you may find interesting about me: I have a twin sister. No, we don’t talk in a secret language or feel each other’s pain. But she does let me borrow her clothes so that’s something. My claim to fame is that I was once quoted in People magazine. It’s a long story that involves Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and West Edmonton Mall. Ok, it’s actually not that long of a story — I once saw Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at West Edmonton Mall.

I am IN love with my niece and two nephews and try to spend as much time with them as possible, which means I’ve seen every animated movie ever released at least twice. I am obsessed with the Royal family and dream of one day becoming BFFs with the Queen. When that happens I’ll obviously drop my life here and move into Buckingham Palace. But until then, I’ll be here practicing my best curtsy and perfecting my royal wave.
So that’s me. Super pumped to be here and really looking forward to working with you on your next project with Kick Point!
I’m so excited for Sarah to be joining your team! She is an amazing person and very talented so I’m glad you guys snapped her up before someone else did, she is a true asset!
Aw, thanks Beverley! I’m so excited to be here!
[…] Nice to hear that the Edmonton Digital Arts College’s Enlightened Fall led Sarah Gardener to a job at Kick Point. […]
Did you ever have your sister come to class and took a day off?
Heiko – I would never! (read: she wasn’t up for it)
